Pitbull and Dr. Pepper for Talenthouse

Talenthouse ran a 6-week contest in the spring of 2013 in which we asked our community to submit remixes of Pitbull’s song “Don’t Stop the Party.”

The prize was an invitation to perform at a private party for Premios Juventud in Miami.

My direct responsibilities

  • Receive assets (the Pitbull video) and develop a full 6-week editorial calendar of tweets and Facebook posts what was approved by brand partner Dr. Pepper
  • Assign, edit and publish a promotional blog post, A Little Bit About the Man Called Pitbull, to the company blog. This post was written by one of my interns.
  • Assign, edit and publish a winner announcement at the end of the campaign, Fast Company Steals the Spotlight for Our Pitbull and Dr. Pepper Remix Contest.
  • Assign, edit and publish a conclusional blog post at the end of the campaign, Fast Company Keeps the Party Going in Miami with Pitbull (link is no longer live).
  • Retweet and engage with the Dr. Pepper and Pitbull social media teams as needed.
  • Internal responsibilities

  • Communicate with an international, cross-functional team of account coordinators to determine the pre-campaign expectations from the client (Dr. Pepper) and meet their needs in the duration of the contest period.
  • Establish communication with the winning artists, Fast Company, and work quickly to guarantee a publish date for their interview blog post.
  • Work with upper management to ensure that the social media copy and image assets are on brand with and meet the quality of the Talenthouse standards.
  • Reach out to potential social media partners such as Miami-based radio stations to see if there is interest in establishing a social media promotional partnership.
  • Social media tweet drafts

These were delivered weeks before the campaign was launched.
